Research Summary
Understanding how traumatic experiences reshape the brain’s capacity for learning and memory formation represents one of the most compelling questions in modern neuroscience. My research focuses on behavioural differences between the rover and sitter alleles of the foraging gene, and how negative experiences shape exploration, decision-making, and avoidance behaviours. I use behavioural assays in combination with neurogenetic tools to investigate the neural and genetic mechanisms underlying these changes. Ultimately, my goal is to contribute to a broader understanding of how adverse experiences alter behaviour, providing insights that can inform both fundamental neuroscience and applied research on stress and resilience.
